Condition:

The canvas has not been lined. There are some areas of craquelure. Examination under ultraviolet light reveals an uneven layer of varnish. There are some scattered flecks of infilling notably to and surrounding the seated figures, to the ceilings and some scattered flecks elsewhere. There are some spots of retouching to the figures on the left of the raised platform, to the seat behind the dancing girl and to the hands, faces and feet of the figures on the right. Otherwise the work appears in good condition, ready to hang. The lot is sold in the condition it is in at the time of sale.
